ROCK OTOČEC, das Größte Open-Air-Festival in SlowenienRock Otočec ist ein traditionelles Musik Festival, das am Idyllischen Schauplatz, an der Badewiese neben dem Fluss-Schloss Otočec, stattfindet. Otočec (bedeutet Insel auf slowenisch ) befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe der Stadt Novo Mesto, die ziemlich genau in der Mitte der Hauptstädte Slowenien- Ljubljana und Kroatien- Zagreb liegt ( Das Festival besuchen an einem Tag zwischen 4 und 8 tausend Musik- und Festivalliebhaber. In den letzten Jahren traten auf dem Festival folgende bekannte Musikkünstler auf: Fun Lovin Criminals, Living Colour, Asian Dub Foundation, Henry Rollins, Dog Eat Dog, Liquido, The Toasters, H-Blockx Emil Bulls, Primal Fear, Fishbone, Stereo MC's, Fundamental, Apocalyptica, Chumbawamba … Noch mehr als das musikalische Angebot kennzeichnen das Festival zahlreiche und verschiedenartige Tagesaktivitäten. Die Straßentheater Performances, die verschiedenen kreativen Werkstätten, die Clowns, die Jongleure und viele andere geben dem Festival seine besondere Note. Der Höhepunkt sind aber die Spiele und die Freuden im Schlamm-Pool, insbesondere die Wahlen der Miss und des Mister Schlammes , des Rock Otočec Models und die Fußballspiele im Schlamm. Ein Bier an einer der vielen Festival Bars und Theken kostet respektable 2.00 Euro (1/2 Liter, Laško, Union). Rock Otočec is a music festival, traditionally held at an idyllic spot next to the Otočec castle at the castle bathing spot of the river Krka. Otočec (meaning island in Slovenian) is located just out of the town Novo mesto, which lies half way between the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, and that of Croatia, Zagreb (70 km distance from both cities). The festival attracts between 4 and 8 thousand visitors daily.
